AVMATS Team Awarded $216.7 Million Navy Support Contract

Chesterfield, MO - Aviation Material and Technical Support (AVMATS) has announced that the L-3 Communications Vertex Aerospace (L-3 Vertex) / AVMATS Team has been awarded a one-year, $47 million contract to provide Contractor Logistics Support and operation of the Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD) for Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). With the exercise of four, one-year option periods, the total contract value is $216.7 million.
AVMATS will provide depot-level (heavy) aircraft maintenance, depot-level engine inspection, repair, and overhaul service, aircraft strip and paint, and supply parts logistics and overhaul services supporting the T-39N/G Aircraft used in the Undergraduate Military Flight Officer Training System (UMFOTS) program. Work will be performed at AVMATS MidAmerica Airport Facilities in Mascoutah, Illinois and AVMATS Engine and Component Overhaul Facilities in O'Fallon, Missouri.

Additionally, the company is a recognized Pratt & Whitney JT-12, General Electric CJ610/CF700 engine overhaul facility and a Honeywell Authorized TFE731 and APU Line Service Center.
